Medical Multiskilled Technician

The Medical Multiskilled Technician prepares students with cross-training in five certifiable medical skill areas. These areas continue to have projected job growth that is much faster than the average for all occupations. Hospitals, diagnostic laboratories, blood donor centers and other locations will need Medical Technicians to perform a variety of skilled tasks. In addition to general education and health technology core courses, students will receive technical skill training for Pharmacy Technician, State Tested Nursing Assistant, EKG Technician, Phlebotomy Technician and Healthcare Provider CPR/First Aid. Students will earn their certificates from NHA (National Healthcareer Association). Students are also required to complete a 170-hour unpaid externship as part of the 736-hour program. The externship is scheduled after all coursework is completed.

Admission Requirements:
• High School diploma or GED
• Complete the WorkKeys assessment
• Attend Program Orientation with program coordinator
Required Prior to Externship:
• Pass FBI/BCI background check
•  Required immunizations: Current Physical with TB (2-step), Hepatitis B Series, 2-MMR vaccines or titer, flu vaccine, and Tetanus.
• Total Program Hours: 736
• Theory Hours: 465
• Lab Hours: 271
