Sports Medicine
Location: Greentree Health Science Academy

Are you interested in health, nutrition and wellness? Do you want to be a personal trainer or explore the field of sports medicine? Don’t just sit there! Get active and sign up for the two-year Sports Medicine Tech Prep program. The lab portion of the program is held at the Greentree Health Science Academy, located on the Atrium Medical Center Campus in Middletown. Students will be transported from WCCC to attend lab and then back to WCCC for academic classes. Students accepted into the program have the opportunity to earn dual high school and college credits and scholarship opportunities upon successful completion of course requirements. Students will participate in job shadowing at area health and sports facilities and work as a team to compete in SkillsUSA events.

Certifications, College Credit

This College Tech Prep program offers up to 19 (5 articulated and 14 proficient) college credits at Sinclair Community College and a $3,000 Miami Valley Tech Prep Scholarship to Sinclair. Miami University is in partnership with this program to provide higher education opportunities. Students have the opportunity to become certified in First Aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, and the opportunity to sit for the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) or the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) certification exam.

Internships & Job Placement
Students will observe and participate in a clinical setting in both the junior and senior year of high school at area healthcare and fitness facilities.
