Conger Construction Chosen for WCCC Renovation, Construction
This was just released by our contractor, local company Conger Construction. We are proud to work together with them to do a portion of the needed work to our facilities. The photo shows the area in which the new science lab will be constructed.
Conger Construction Group is proud to announce that they have been selected as the contractor of choice for the Warren County Career Center Building Renovations and Fire Tower project.
This $5 million construction project located in Lebanon, Ohio will consist of interior renovations including a new, state of the art science lab, culinary lab and restaurant, restaurant patio and café seating area, kitchen and serving area as well as a new digital design lab and IT office. Exterior additions will consist of a new fire tower, pad and trench rescue simulator that will be utilized by the surrounding fire departments in the county in addition to the career center students.
Interior demolition begins immediately with the erection of the fire tower to begin in the spring. Substantial completion of the project is slated for September 1, 2017. “In 2015, our community-based Facilities Committee looked at our building, talked with key stakeholders, and made recommendations to the board to address some of the critical facility needs,” WCCC Superintendent Maggie Hess said. “The work that is being done is a result of the recommendations we received from them. Although we are very excited to have this work being done, we are only able to do a small portion of the overall improvements needed as identified in the district Master Plan, due to budget constraints.”
Conger is proud to be a part of this project for a multitude of reasons. Not only is the project located in our home city of Lebanon, but the Warren County Career Center is a vital part of our county and the construction industry. We are delighted to be facilitating a construction project at a school that services thousands of high school and adult WCCC students each year, many who benefit through earning industry certifications in construction and manufacturing related fields while earning college credit toward a degree.
“To help create an environment that trains the future workforce for not only in our industry, but the industries in which we serve is truly fulfilling. A project of this nature enables us to deliver on our core values of community development, quality, safety and employee development. Not often does a project come along that aligns so closely to our core values,” said Justin Conger, President of Conger Construction Group.
