8 Take Silver and Bronze at Ohio SkillsUSA

Eight Warren County Career Center students placed at the Ohio SkillsUSA Conference, held in Columbus April 11-12. Even though many of the competitions were held during WCCC’s spring break, 34 students attended and competed.

Culinary senior Kaiya Taylor, Lebanon, earned a Silver Medal in Tableside Service, preparing guacamole at the table for the judges. Heavy Equipment and Site Construction senior Seth Adams, Franklin, earned a Silver Medal in Heavy Equipment Operation.

Tech Prep Showcase Arts and Communication Team Taylor Mills, Kings; Abigail Dille, Waynesville; and Lilith Kelly, Springboro, earned a Silver Medal for their comic book project, which included life-size models of the characters. Tech Prep Showcase Arts and Communication Team Ashlee Young, Lebanon; Tori Daves, Franklin; and Noah Rodenfels, Waynesville, earned a Bronze Medal for their coloring book project. The students created coloring books for children and for senior adults with dementia and Alzheimer’s. Both teams are in the Graphic Arts & Imaging program.
