This 900-hour program prepares students for entry-level employment in high-demand technical occupations found in advanced manufacturing. Numerous multi-craft technical skills, including industrial electrical, electronic circuits, mechanical, PLC, robotics, CNC Programming, Manufacturing Processes, fluid power, and welding disciplines, are taught using a largely hands-on approach to skill development. Students learn a variety of skills needed in the manufacture, troubleshooting, and maintenance of complex automation equipment and components used in energy processing, consumer product manufacturing, and the construction of high-tech machinery and durable goods.

The RAMTEC Lab at the Warren County Career Center is one of just ten advanced manufacturing training centers of their type in Ohio. This training center for area manufacturers and employees ensures that Ohio’s workforce remains on the cutting edge. Students train on Fanuc, Motoman, and other equipment. This lab is an extension of the existing program and is used for those students as well as for customized training for industry and the WCCC high school Advanced Manufacturing & Robotics program.

U.S. Manufacturing employs more than 12 million workers directly, according to figures from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. There remain. However, about 600,000 skilled manufacturing jobs unfilled, as reported by a 2012 study by Deloitte LLP. High-tech factories require a dependable supply of a well-trained, technically adept labor force.  Employment opportunities should are very good for Electromechanical PLC Technicians willing to fill these deficits.
