Certifications, College Credit
This College Tech Prep program offers up to 19 (5 articulated and 14 proficient) college credits at Sinclair Community College and a $3,000 Miami Valley Tech Prep Scholarship to Sinclair. Miami University is in partnership with this program to provide higher education opportunities. Students have the opportunity to become certified in First Aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, AMCA Physical Therapy Aide certification (American Medical Certification Association), OSHA 10-hour general industry for Healthcare certification and the opportunity to sit for the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) certification exam.
Internships & Job Placement
Students may observe and participate in a clinical setting in both the junior and senior year of high school at area healthcare and fitness facilities. WCCC students may have the opportunity to participate in internships, clinics, shadowing and other off-campus activities related to their labs to enhance their learning experience. Participation in these activities is optional. The activities are hosted by community organizations on premises that are not under the control or governance of the Warren County Career Center. As a condition of participation, students must agree to adhere to any rules and requirements of the participating community organizations, including any requirements to obtain vaccinations and/or follow health and safety rules and protocols.
Career Technical Student Organization:
Students participate in HOSA-Future Health Professionals, and organization that develops leadership and technical HOSA skill competencies through a program of motivation, awareness and recognition, which is an integral part of the Health Science Education instructional program. All students also have the opportunity to participate in the Tech Prep Showcase through the Miami Valley Tech Prep Consortium.
