We're glad you're here and looking to learn more about the application process!
Every student that wants to attend WCCC must apply and be accepted into our programs. Typically students apply in their sophomore year to start in the fall of their junior year and spend the next two years with us until graduation. However, we welcome students that are in their junior year to apply and then either defer their diploma or only spend one year with us. We will work with each accepted student to develop the best plan for them.
To ensure an equitable opportunity for all students to have access to career tech education, student placement will be done by lottery for all programs. The lottery system assigns applicants a random number based only on the student's application date and residence. Students that reside (regardless of what school they currently attend) in our Career Tech Planning District (CTPD) will get priority placement.
The following districts are part of our CTPD
- Franklin City
- Lebanon City
- Kings Local
- Little Miami Local
- Springboro Community
- Wayne Local
Status numbers are assigned by residency and date of application:
Students who reside in our CTPD that submit an application BY January 1, 2023 automatically earn ADVANTAGE+ status.
Students who reside in our CTPD that submit an application AFTER January 1, 2023 automatically earn ADVANTAGE status.
Students who reside OUTSIDE of our CTPD that submit an application BY January 1, 2023 automatically earn STANDBY+ status and will be placed only after May 1st.
Students who reside OUTSIDE of our CTPD that submit an application AFTER January 1, 2023 automatically earn STANDBY status and will be placed only after May 1st.
