The Surgical Technology Program introduces students to allied health fundamentals, anatomy and physiology and medical terminology with a focus on surgical support and safety standards.

Students learn strategies to remain calm and think quickly during life-threatening emergencies, anticipate the needs of the patient and the surgeon and account for tools and instruments during surgical procedures. Students may have the opportunity to participate in internships, clinics,  job shadowing and other off-campus activities related to their labs to enhance their learning experience.

HOSA is a global student-led organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Department of Health and Human Services and several federal and state agencies. HOSA actively promotes career opportunities in the health industry and to enhance the delivery of quality health care to all people.
