Warren County Career Center Earns Regional Emmy® Nomination and Four OHSPRA Awards

Warren County Career Center is proud to be recognized for telling the stories that make career-tech education so impactful, earning a 2026 Ohio Valley Chapter Emmy® nomination and four statewide awards from the Ohio School Public Relations Association (OHSPRA).

Leading the recognition is Into the Fire, which received an Emmy® nomination in the Education/Schools or Children/Teen category. The video places viewers in the heart of live-burn training, offering a firsthand look at the skill, dedication, and real-world experiences that prepare WCCC Fire Science students for careers in the field.

For the Emmy-nominated video, Into the Fire, WCCC's Director of Marketing, Communications, and Recruitment, Nick DeSanctis, worked with Fire Instructor Lieutenant Snyder to develop a custom protective sleeve to allow a camera to withstand the extreme heat inside the fire tower during live-burn exercises. The result allowed DeSanctis to provide a unique perspective, placing viewers alongside students as they navigated realistic firefighting scenarios in the heat and darkness of WCCC’s burn tower during a live-burn exercise.

While WCCC’s awards and recognition highlight excellence in communication and storytelling, they also reflect the incredible students, staff, and programs that make those stories possible.

"Our students make storytelling easy because they're out there doing real work every day," said Nick DeSanctis, Director of Marketing, Communications, and Recruitment at Warren County Career Center. "The best stories aren't created in our office; they're happening in our labs, classrooms, and communities. We just get the opportunity to tell them." 

That spirit was also recognized at the annual OHSPRA Conference in April, where WCCC received four awards for excellence in school communications:
