Warren County Career Center Names State Trooper Seth Bennett as 2026 Distinguished Alumni Award Recipient
The Warren County Career Center (WCCC) is proud to announce that Seth Bennett, a 2019 graduate of the Criminal Justice program, has been selected as the recipient of the 2026 Distinguished Alumni Award. Currently serving as a Trooper with the Ohio State Highway Patrol at the Dayton Post, Bennett’s journey from student to public servant exemplifies the resilience and dedication fostered at the Career Center.
Since his graduation, Bennett has led a life defined by service. Following his time at WCCC, he enlisted in the United States Army and served on a deployment overseas. Upon his return, he began his career in law enforcement as a corrections officer before successfully transitioning to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Bennett was nominated by a broad coalition of WCCC staff members, including Stephanie Heidenreich, Yvonne Kaszubowski, Caroline Green, Peter Tarkin, Mikele Giambra, and Emily White, as well as a Sergeant from the Ohio State Highway Patrol. The nominations painted a picture of a student who was "quiet yet determined" and who faced early life obstacles with "grace and humility."
"Seth Bennett is the epitome of the WCCC success story," WCCC staff member Stephanie Heidenreich wrote in her nomination. "He came to us with so much heart and personality. He is a great example of pursuing a passion for a career and facing any obstacle with humility."
The Distinguished Alumni Award is the highest honor the Career Center bestows upon its former students, recognizing those who have achieved significant professional success and demonstrated a commitment to their community. Bennett’s selection highlights not only his professional achievements but also his character as a "goal-setter" who inspired his teachers and counselors alike.
