WCCC Students Take Top 3 in Rotary Contest
Three Warren County Career Center juniors participated in the Lebanon Rotary Club annual 4-Way Speech Contest and placed as the top three out of six competitors. Corrinne Keller, Little Miami, Digital Design, earned 1st Place; Jaclyn Cooper, Waynesville, Vet Science, earned 2nd Place; and Madison Winkler, Lebanon, Pre-Nursing, earned 3rd Place. WCCC English Instructor Brandon Welch worked with the students to prepare them for the contest.
The speeches are based around the Rotary Club Four-Way Test, which asks the questions: Is it the truth? Is it fair to all concerned? Will it build goodwill and better friendships? Will it be beneficial to all concerned?
Corrine will go on for state competition on March 29. She plans to go on to Sinclair Community College after high school graduation and then transfer to a four-year college to earn a degree in the areas of Graphic Design and Visual Communications.
Jaclyn plans to earn a college degree in veterinary science to prepare her to work at a zoo, or perhaps own and operate her own zoo. Madison is earning her Phlebotomy Technician and EKG Technician certification as a part of her high school program, and plans to work after graduation as a phlebotomist.
