WCCC Offering Contact Tracing Course Aug. 3
Warren County Career Center offers Contact Tracing, a new short-term online Adult Education course through Clark State Community College, Springfield. This 10-part, virtual, self-paced course teaches contact tracing, a core disease control measure.
“We are excited to offer this opportunity for short-term training that can lead to immediate employment,” Coordinator Dr. Teresa Orloff said. “Contact Tracers are essential to the safe opening up of our economy.”
The specialized training will be offered in an online format to anyone who is interested in learning the protocols for proper contact tracing of the COVID-19 virus. Contact Tracers work with patients to identify people with whom the patients have been in close contact so they can be located and informed. State and local health departments are hiring Contact Tracers now as local businesses return to work with modified operations.
Students will learn the protocols, how to conduct an interview, risk communication, requirements for protecting health information, analyzing contact tracing encounters and more. The course starts Aug. 3, and tuition is $60. The training should take between 1-2 weeks to complete. To register, click HERE.
