WCCC Testing Center Open for Business
The WCCC Authorized Regional Testing and Assessment Center reopened recently after being closed for over three months and demand is high for test appointments. From July 2019 to June 2020, with a closure from mid-March to mid-June, the center served just over 3,000 exams to testers.
“We are seeing an increase in requests for appointments,” Testing Proctor Rachel Edwards said. “We are able to safely accommodate five testers at a time in the center. Everyone is required to wear masks, and we are following social distancing guidelines. Each computer and desk is disinfected after each use, as well as any pencils, calculators, or other tools that may be used during testing. I have also received many emails, and phone calls about signing up for other proctored exams. Although we have extended our hours to try and accommodate as many people as safely possible, people may need to expect that we need a few weeks’ notice in order to get them tested since we only have so many seats available in the testing center.”
Potential adult education students can sign up for the WorkKeys exam online through the student portal found on the Adult Education Home Page on the WCCC website. The schedule is already posted and students can choose their preferred day and time to come in, and also pay online for the test fees.
WCCC is the only AutoCAD test center in Ohio, and the center tests not only WCCC Engineering/PLTW high school students, but also professionals from Cleveland, Columbus and other cities take their Autodesk Certified Professional (ACP) exams. The Testing Center administers more IT exams than any test center in SW Ohio, with more than 500 in the past year, and serves both WCCC high school and adult students taking CompTIA certifications such as A+ and Network+, and some of the highest security exams for Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and other defense contractors.
The center over the last year and 8 months has administered 552 Ohio Assessments for Educators exams, and has tested more CLEP (College Level Exams for college credit) than any other testing center in Ohio, at over 280. Students from Michigan and all over Ohio come to WCCC for CLEP exams.
WCCC adult and high school students are certified through Advanced Manufacturing Certification Exams. The center is working with MSSC to become a Master Training Center for Ohio both in written exams and hands on skill testing in the school’s Amatrol Labs.
Apart from the Main Campus Testing Center, WCCC is now offering the STNA exam to the public at the Greentree Health Science Academy. Medical students who need to take the State-Tested Nursing Assistant exam can now take it through WCCC by appointment.
