Students Compete, Learn, at Educators Rising Conference

Warren County Career Center Teacher Academy students from Lebanon and Springboro recently attended the 2019 Educators Rising Ohio Conference, “Embrace Your Superpower!” Over 800 future educators from 60 chapters competed to qualify for nationals, which will be held in Dallas, Texas, in June.

From Lebanon High School, 17 students competed in 13 categories. Jeremy Cantrell earned 3rd place for Impromptu Speaking, and Shelby Byrge earned 5th place for Educators Rising Moment, and both qualified to go on to the Educators Rising National Conference. Lebanon students who finished in the Top 10 in Ohio are Bri Ellis, Children’s Literature Pre-K; Corryn Browne, Public Speaking; and Team Corryn Brown, Maddie Frampton and Madie McNamara, for “Inside Our Schools Innovative Design for the Berry Learning Commons.” Other participants were Sam Arns, Sarah Chaney, Kelsey Funderburg, Jacob Keller, Charlie Norris, Max Pierce, Maddie Renner, Olivia Saunders, Jenna Stokes, Kaya Walker, and Gracie Wright. Their instructor is Toni Crawford.

From Springboro High School, four students attended and two competed at the state conference. Sara Kline competed in Impromptu Speaking and Megan Neeld was a Top 10 finisher in Resume/Job Interview. Other participants were Hannah Brown and Maddie Sumpter. Their instructor is Carla Kemp.
