Warren County Career Center has had a partnership with Sinclair Community College for many years through the Miami Valley Tech Prep Consortium. Sinclair provides scholarships and college credits to WCCC students in multiple programs, giving students a head start on college. IT Instructor at WCCC/Franklin Brett Kottmann nominated the Sinclair College Information Technology department for the November 2021 Valued Community Partner. WCCC offers IT programs at Main Campus and six satellites at Franklin, Kings, Little Miami, Springboro, Waynesville and Bishop Fenwick.
“We work with the Sinclair IT department through Miami Valley Tech Prep,” Mr. Kottman said. “The goal is to allow high school students to take college level content while they are in a career tech program. The Sinclair faculty set up the classes with syllabus, content, and assessments that instructors can customize for our classes. They are also available to help us out with onboarding and end of year assessments as well as answer our questions during the year. It's a flexible system that allows me to give my career tech students the same opportunities to get college credit as AP and CCP classes do.”
