Warren County Career Center has some big changes to announce! Our medical programs facility, formerly called the Greentree Health Science Academy, is now called the WCCC Atrium Campus. The name change will help our community know that the facility is located on the Atrium Medical Center campus, and also that Atrium Medical Center is one of our many healthcare partners.
Along with the name change, we are also excited to announce that the high school students in our programs at the Atrium Campus: Cybersecurity, Dental Assisting, Healthcare Management and Medical Law, Pre-Nursing, Sports and Exercise Science, and Surgical Technology, will attend all day beginning with the 2021-22 school year. In the past, students were transported to and from the Atrium campus from the Main campus in Lebanon, where they ate lunch and attended their academic classes.
Now, all high school students will report to the Atrium Campus in the morning and spend all day until dismissal time, because we have built a cafeteria kitchen, expanded seating for lunch service, and have all academic classes the students will need. There will also be an on-site school counselor assigned to Atrium Campus.
“We are so excited to be a full-day high school now,” Atrium Campus Director Kim Gambill said. “Students will gain instructional time, and become a part of our campus community. We also work hand-in-hand with our Adult Education programs, instructors, and Coordinator Dr. Teresa Orloff, to provide opportunities for students to earn certifications in STNA, Phlebotomy and more.”
Adult programs train and certify healthcare professionals in State Tested Nursing Assistant, Phlebotomy Technician, Dental Assisting, Medical Assistant, and Pharmacy Technician. WCCC’s Atrium Campus is an educational support to all health systems in our region, supplying a skilled workforce for the healthcare needs of our community and beyond.
